It's good to know that construction companies take earthquakes seriously, here. This is a supporting pillar for what I presume is going to be a new apartment block. The amount of steel reinforcement should keep the place safe through just about any seismic disturbance. Posted by Hello

The type of reinforcing bar is specifically earthquake grade. I read an engineering analysis of why buildings failed in the 1999 Taiwan earthquake. One reason was lack of this type of re-rod.
